I Burned My Toast (2025)

on the difficulties of life

I burned my toast to a crisp
Isn’t life gonna get any easier than this?
I swing but I mostly miss
Really I don’t know anything at all
But I run my mouth all the same
Blame it on my age
Blame it on my shame

I’ll place an egg in my pocket and try my best to go about routine, find a crowded space, stand right in between
And maybe I’ll thrash around a bit n pray that someone has at it,
I feed on fragility, that’s all you’ll hear from me

I burned my toast
I bit my tongue
I stubbed my toe
Tragedy’s won

(Would you like a bite?
You can put on any seasoning you like)

Tragedy’s won.

"Should we move the piano" (2025)

practice-as-research
